Tried to update and Blogger messed it up. Oh joy. And now I see my pics have expired, yet I don't want to take the time to upload more and fix photobucket and ugh. And now Music Memoirs isn't loading. :( So there's not much I can really update about right now!

Just a very quick update, because I need to do one for the blog.

    Tuesday Tunes: Week 96

    from Music Memoirs

Tell us about the most mind-blowing concert you've ever attended.

Elvis Costello, Knoxville, 2005. Probably it would be that one, because everything about it was perfect. He was amazing, the song choice was amazing, my seats were amazing, and I got to meet him afterwards.

~In other news, because I should update this blog once in a while.... Have to go to the bunny vet tomorrow. If I can go for more than 2 months without having to go to the vet, I'll be happy. Ugh.

Trying to come up with innovative answers for this. The keyword there is "trying." It's not the meme's fault, mind you - it's mine for feeling tired and blerghy all the time. The questions themselves are very good, as always. :)

    From Music Memoirs

3 songs you can't get enough of right now.
It's very old school stuff, I know.
    1. Elvis Costello - Party Girl
    2. Nick Lowe - Burning
    3. The Smiths - The Boy with the Thorn in His Side

2 artists you'd like to recommend to us.
No one you wouldn't already know, I'm sure. ;)

1 album you can't wait to purchase.
Elvis Costello's new album, "Secret, Profane and Sugarcane."

Skipping back to last week's "Tuesday Tunes" because I love love love the questions.
    Tuesday Tunes: Week 80

    Music and Travel

What music format do you take when you roadtrip and why? (CD, mp3 etc)
CD, which is kind of ridiculous, but for a true road trip, you're in the car and my car has a CD player. Even when it's not a road trip and I'm going by plane, I load up the Case Logic with CDs and pack my walkman.

Do you ever make special mixes or playlists just for your trip?
Definitely. I have a mix of London songs I did for my first London trip. I've also made mixes of artists like EC or the Moody Blues just before travelling to see concerts of theirs.

Have you ever associated a certain album or band with a trip you made?
Again, absolutely. Probably every single trip I've ever made has at least one song that I associate it with. Whether it was because the song was in my head at the time, or because it came out around that time, or seemed to fit the situation. One of my Moodies concert trips will always be associated with "Don't Need a Reindeer," because I heard them playing it at their soundcheck, and then put that song on repeat on the trip home. A much weirder example is the Sweeney Todd soundtrack, which I was listening to on a recent trip. But I have so many examples, it'd take ages to list.

I adore these questions. I almost feel like they were made for me! ;D

Okay, so, there are two reasons why I haven't updated here in a while. One is that things have been busy, obviously. The other is that this blog is my main place for posting memes, and really? I feel like my answers have been boring. They've been the same artists repeated over and over again, and that was kind of embarrassing to me.

But. I like Music Memoirs so I'm going to try to do the memes more, even if I can't think of more interesting answers. But if I feel that my answers are really lame, I may decide not to post every one that I attempt.

    Tuesday Tunes: Week 69
One question this week: Tell us your biggest musical regret.
    :

That would involve a concert, probably. The problem is with picking just one.

Because of weather and because I was feeling exhausted, among other reaons, I chose not to see The Police on their last tour when I had the chance to. It was more about the principle of the thing: the idea of getting to see them at least one, more than out of love for them. I feel stupid for not making the effort.

And I had tickets to a Pogues show last year, but I was too sick to go. So not only did I miss the concert, but I wasted a lot of money in the process. (What I regret more is missing the Conan O'Brien taping that I was supposed to attend on that trip.)

    Top 5 on Friday

    From Music Memoirs

    Top 5 Spooky Halloween Songs

Danny Elfman – This is Halloween

Warren Zevon – Werewolves of London

    Michael Jackson – Thriller

Sweeney Todd OST – Epiphany (for this particular Halloween, anyway, since my Halloween was all about Sweeney)

The Moody Blues – The Other Side of Life (not an obvious choice, but it's always reminded me of Halloween. It's definitely spooky, in any case)

    Tuesday Tunes: Week 49

    From Music Memoirs

You've seen them live: A list of everyone? I don't know if I can do that. It's a long list. So here are the most memorable ones:

The Monkees (and it's only 4 more days til I see Davy Jones again!!)
The Moody Blues (I don't know how many times... 5?)
    Bob Dylan
    Paul McCartney (3 times)
Elvis Costello (...8 times? OMG, I hadn't even realized that.)
    Emmylou Harris (with Elvis Costello)
    The Pogues (4 times)
BibleCode Sundays (Elvis's little brother's band)
    Billy Bragg
The Tossers, Murder by Death, William Elliot Whitmore, The 88, Ollin, the Dropkick Murphys (all with the Pogues)
    The Kaiser Chiefs
    Nick Lowe
    Carbon/Silicon
    The Nips
Ringo Starr & the All Starr Band (Colin Hay, Billy Squier, Edgar Winter, Gary Wright)

    Am I forgetting anyone important?

    Tell us the following:
The best artist you've seen perform live and the worst: (from a musical standpoint)
Best: That's an impossible question. Elvis Costello's never done a bad show. Paul McCartney's always pretty great. Nick Lowe blew me away this April. I just can't give a definitive answer!

Worst: Sitting through some of the opening acts? That would probably be it, because not all opening bands are very good at all. There was a band that opened for the Pogues that seriously annoyed me, and I didn't even list them up there because I can't remember their name. Oh, I forgot another one: a band called The Night Marchers, who are from LA, I think. The crowd loved them, for some reason, but I'm sorry - I hated them.

The concert with the worst audience: Either Elvis Costello & Emmylou Harris in NYC 2005 (a guy spilled beer down the back of my leg, and the crowd was just obnoxious), or The Pogues 2007 (a guy dressed as Santa Claus, drunkenly pushing and falling into people in the crowd? No thanks).

The most expensive concert and the least expensive:
    Most expensive: Ringo Starr.
Least: Carbon/Silicon (that's Mick Jones of the Clash and Tony James of Sigue Sigue Sputnik) or Nick Lowe. I paid about $15 for those, which is ironic since they were two of the best concerts I've ever been to.

    (Late) Top 5 on Friday

    From Music Memoirs

Top 5 Bands That You Wish You Could See Live:

Peter Noone - I'd love to see him someday, since I've always loved Herman's Hermits. Plus, I hear he's fun to see live. :)

    David Bowie

The Good, The Bad, & The Queen - I don't actually find them incredibly interesting, but I'd like to see Paul Simonon (bass player of The Clash) just once. The Clash would, in fact, be on this list if time was no object.

    Duran Duran

The Monkees (all four of them) - I've seen them before, but not with Mike.
