Happy Halloween...sort of
Halloween was actually celebrated yesterday down here in this town for religious reasons. I basically celebrated by watching Sleepy Hollow before dealing with trick-or-treaters.
But look what I did...I'm proud!!
Would you believe I've never really carved a pumpkin before?
Looks like Elvis found a costume.
Johnny's in the spirit too.
Happy All Hallow's Eve.

Blog Anniversary!
I think today is my blog's first anniversary. Yaaay.
At this time last year I was desperate to get this CD:
(December - The Moody Blues)
And I was listening to this one non-stop:
(Blood & Chocolate - Elvis Costello)
So...not much has changed, really. Except the whole Johnny Depp and Elvis Costello obsession thing kicking into overdrive.
I can't think of a better way to celebrate my blog's birthday than to spread some prettiness.
I'm going to be listening to Don't Need a Reindeer now.
Looking smoldering as always.
Oh so cute.
And a bonus because it amused me...the monkey cufflinks!!

Finally!
I've put in a lot of effort not to get very angry about the debates and all the fuss that goes with them. But just channel surfing the other night I had to look at a certain candidate's face about ten times, and I lost my perfect composure. I said something to the effect of... He looks like a monkey, for goodness sake! ...I don't think this vicious creature quite made that jump from monkey to man. ...And imagine all those monkeys sitting up in the coconut trees saying "From us, brothers, he did NOT come!"
Picture my gratification when Elvis drop-kicked a certain bobblehead across the Jimmy Kimmel show.
I made myself a new Mix CD, by the way, to cheer myself up. It's basically a lot of bizarre, not always "good" stuff that's here just for the purpose of energizing me. It's kind of a car CD for me.
1. Monkey to Man 2. All Grown Up 3. Bedlam 4. My Brave Face 5. Spooky Girlfriend 6. There's a Story in Your Voice 7. Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood 8. White Knuckles 9. Tear Off Your Own Head (It's a Doll Revolution) 10. The Delivery Man 11. Georgie and Her Rival 12. The Monkey 13. 45 ***(fun driving song when the speed limit's 45)*** 14. The Name of This Thing is Not Love 15. Miss Macbeth 16. Brilliant Disguise 17. Daddy Can I Turn This? 18. Last Boat Leaving 19. You Want Her Too 20. Playboy to a Man 21. Happy 58th to my favorite Blonde God
How could I be late mentioning Justin's birthday?? That is a grievous wrong that I will remedy shortly, by putting up some lovely pictures...
I did this last year, but it's still nice to look at
This is the first picture of Justin that I really looked at and thought..."Yes, this man is gorgeous"
And this was my first "favorite" picture of Justin... (looks like I'm getting into the history of my fandom here...)
From the old days
...and kind of a companion pic to that one, from recent years (this absolutely beautiful picture belongs to Andrea)
I wish I had something poetic to say about this but it would just be the usual "your music has touched my life," etc. etc.
So, I'm just going to say... thanks, love.

Look! Matching grins!
Since I have nothing on my mind but Johnny Depp in Vanity Fair, let me just add that I don't think I've ever seen a really "bad" picture of Johnny. Amazing.

How I Messed Up my Saturday Night
Someone lent me a book over the weekend. It was that book by one Bebe Buell. I made the mistake of reading her first part on Elvis Costello. Now, it's not as if she painted an unflattering picture of him. Quite the contrary. But this was a severe case of Too Much Information. I do not need to read the explicit details of how they "made love". I really don't.
This kind of put a damper on my night. I don't think I should read her subsequent sections on him--when they get back together and supposedly have even "more" fun.
Now to wipe all sorts of nightmarish mental images out of my mind, a meme.
Firsts & Lasts
1. Last time you smiled: Right after someone came up behind me a while ago and asked what I was doing on the computer. I screamed, "I'm working! I'm working!" which is really untrue, unless drooling on pretty pictures is work.
2. First time you can remember being proud of yourself: Probably winning the school science fair or something. (How geeky can you get?)
3. Last time you lied: See question 1.
4. First time you felt true sadness: Probably when my orange cat died. That cat was older than I was.
5. Last time you you made a tough decision: Yesterday. Deciding whether or not to scream with frustration at a friend who keeps insisting that she will "arrange my wedding" to my "three famous guys" while listening to Country Darkness.

Watch "The Young Ones", 80's BBC show, and wish they'd made more than 12 episodes.
Drool over wonderful King of America cover.
Kidnap Elvis AND Justin Lodgey AND Paul to preserve sanity and ward off post-concert depression.
Pretty much try to stay in a constant state of confusion (like Johnny Depp) just because of the expression it leaves on my face.
Protest War
(feeling a little ambitious, are we?)
