    (Late) Top 5 on Friday

    From Music Memoirs

Top 5 Bands That You Wish You Could See Live:

Peter Noone - I'd love to see him someday, since I've always loved Herman's Hermits. Plus, I hear he's fun to see live. :)

    David Bowie

The Good, The Bad, & The Queen - I don't actually find them incredibly interesting, but I'd like to see Paul Simonon (bass player of The Clash) just once. The Clash would, in fact, be on this list if time was no object.

    Duran Duran

The Monkees (all four of them) - I've seen them before, but not with Mike.

    Davy Jones

The Music Memoirs meme reminded me to mention this.

I'm so excited (and confused) because in September I get to see Davy Jones of The Monkees. The last time I saw him was a Monkees concert, probably ten years ago or more. My confusion stems from two things....

    1) I don't know what "Monkees Memories" actually is, but that's how this show is being advertised.

    2) He's playing a conference center 30 minutes away from me. That's just about the closest any artist will ever get to my town, so I'm quite pleased about that. The problem is, this center is a really tiny place, and the town is even smaller than my town, which is really saying something.

The venue is also literally across the street from my best friend's house.

I'm guessing Davy's booking agent doesn't know just how rather pathetic that town really is. Still, I'm not complaining, because I'm dying to see him again, and I've already got my tickets.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go get ready to take the rabbits to the vet. Ugh.

    Tuesday Tunes

    From Music Memoirs

What have you been listening to the most lately? and why? (It can be a genre an album a band)

It's hard to pick just one band/album etc. that I've been listening to.... I've been playing a lot of Joe Strummer (frontman of The Clash) and the albums he made with his last band, the Mescaleros. They sound nothing like The Clash, by the way, but I love them. It's like a mix of world music and...I don't really know how to describe it.

I've also been starting to listen to my Monkees CDs again lately, because... You know, I think I'll just make a separate post about that. It really deserves its own post.

  • Watch "The Young Ones", 80's BBC show, and wish they'd made more than 12 episodes.

  • Drool over wonderful King of America cover.

  • Pretty much try to stay in a constant state of confusion (like Johnny Depp) just because of the expression it leaves on my face.
